Already mistreated by poachers and hunters wanting the young ones, the parents manage to free them all and escape, but Lapras are known to be more intelligent than other Pokémon, and with Kanto's water being plagued by debris from the destroyed cites they had to migrate to Ignora the last place on earth where somewhat clean water existed, key word being somewhat, with Ignora being the last standing region there are parts of this island where its polluted tremendously and in this case the only place where there was habitable water for what they needed in terms of habitat demands, so many grew sick and fell to the toxic air but others decided to embrace it and soak it in, instead of these ones being hurt, they were energized by it and gained their poison typing, though we advise anyone who come across them, while they are very friendly, they require special gear to ride as the skin and shell of these Pokémon are highly toxic and will kill you if touched, so please do not pet the Lapras even though its super cute.
